For the vast majority of patients treated in BC, their health care journey ends with an optimal health outcome. However, this is not always the case. The council provides advice to the Minister of Health Services on issues of patient safety and quality of care. Complaints cannot be made directly to the council but rather to the appropriate health authority first and then to the council if a patient requests a review. This service is not available on the Sunshine Coast – contact Vancouver Coastal Health.
